1 Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Upwork JobSearch (the "Service") handles personal information and user data. By using the Service, you agree to the terms described here.

2 Information we store

We store the following information in our server database:

• License key
• Email address
• Plan and expiry date
• Issue date and status (active / inactive)

• Last time the Service was used
• Number of evaluations run in the current month (to enforce usage limits)

• Subscription identifier issued by the payment provider
• Name of the payment provider used

3 Information we do not store

The following is never stored on our servers:

Skills, desired rate, preferred keywords, keywords to avoid, experience highlights, and your request to the AI are stored only in your browser (local storage). When you run an evaluation, this information passes through our server temporarily so it can be used as the scoring basis — but it is not saved there.

Text you paste into the Service is processed only for that evaluation and is not stored.

Results are shown in your browser only and are not stored on our servers.

Payments are handled by our payment provider. We never receive or store your card number or similar payment credentials.

4 Third parties we use

The Service relies on the following third parties to function:

To score job listings, the profile you entered and the job text you pasted are sent to Google's Gemini API. Google's privacy policy and API terms apply to that processing.

Payments are processed by a payment provider acting as the merchant of record. Your name, email address, and payment details are collected and managed directly by that provider. Their privacy policy applies to that information.

The Service runs on cloud hosting infrastructure, and access logs may be recorded by the hosting provider.

Apart from the above and any disclosure required by law, we do not share your information with third parties.

5 How we use your information

Information we store is used only to:

• Verify your license and manage its expiry
• Enforce usage limits and keep the Service running reliably
• Respond to your enquiries
• Send important notices about the Service

We do not sell or share your information with third parties for advertising purposes.

6 Information stored in your browser

The Service saves the following in your browser's local storage:

• Your license key, so you don't have to re-enter it
• Your profile, so it can be reused as the scoring basis

This data stays on your device and can be removed by clearing your browser data. We cannot access it directly.

7 Data retention

License and usage information is retained for as long as needed to manage your subscription and to meet legal requirements. After cancellation, some records may be retained for a limited period for accounting purposes and to verify any future re-subscription.

8 Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the information we hold about you. Please contact us using the details below. Note that deleting information required to operate the Service — such as an active license record — may require cancelling your subscription.

9 Security

We take reasonable measures to protect stored information against unauthorised access, loss, and alteration. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

10 Minors

The Service is intended for professionals working as freelancers and is not directed at minors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

11 Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the Service or in applicable law. Significant changes will be announced within the Service.
